Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What is Hypnosis?
A natural state of being which we experience everyday ~ like not remembering how you got somewhere; can’t find your keys; or not seeing something when it is in front of you.
Q. Will I be out of control ~ e.g. run around like a chicken, or reveal my inner most secrets?
No, at all times you are completely in control.
Q. Can anyone be hypnotised?
Yes, if they want to be because all hypnosis is self-hypnosis. The Hypnotherapist acts as a facilitator guiding the client to the inner resources they need.
Q. What does hypnosis feel like?
A deeply, relaxing, yet focused state of mind.
Q. Does hypnosis really work?
The benefits of hypnosis has been researched & studied for many decades & is a key factor in mind-body therapy. Hypnosis requires you to be open & ready to commit to truly making the changes you are seeking.
Q. How many sessions will I need?
Everyone is individual & it really depends on how committed & willing you are to change or how deep rooted your problems are. Generally most people will have between 3 - 6 sessions.
Each session is 60 - 90 mins in length.
Q. How often would I need to have sessions?
With a new client the first few sessions are always weekly to start the change process & to help support these early changes, after these changes have been intergrated comfortably, then we start to extend these sessions to fortnightly or monthly depending on your needs & progress.
Q. What qualifications should I look for in a Hypnotherapist?
There are many schools of Hypnotherapy, so I would highly recommend that you find a Hypnotherapist who displays the HPD (Hypnotherapy Professional Diploma) qualification and is a member of a professional organisation such as the NCH (National Council of Hypnotherapy) and the CNHC (Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council).
As a professional member of both please visit their websites for further information and guidelines.
